The total area of the property corresponds to the phytogeographic Region of the Yungas. It is represented by the District of the transitional forests, mountains forest district and district of the forest s Montanos. 56% of the total area of the farm presents as forest formation to the jungle pedemontana, 42% of montane and Montane forest 2%.

 

According to studies carried out on the farm, it is possible to identify more than 30 tree species which include; Cebil, Ceibo, Laurel, different types of Lapacho Pacara, White Stic, Quina native Oak, Tipa Urundel, among others.

Like any ecosystem, trees have important environmental functions for the conservation of the native forest.

Trees serve as shelter and habitat of different species, as a source of food, preserve the structure of the soil, absorb water, fixing carbon dioxide, produce oxygen and draw landscapes so characteristic of this area.

Biodiversity

Finca Pintascayo is home to a great variety of species of flora and fauna.

 

Present a registered 98 bird species richness and an abundance of 1131 individuals.

 

Among the bird species of conservation value, we can find Grallaria albigula, Cairina moschata and dark Penenlope that are hunting species and one species of bird not cited previously for Argentina Chiroxiphia bolivian.

The Pintascayo farm presents a wealth of 26 species of wild mammals and 3 species of domestic mammals. Nine of the recorded species are categorized as vulnerable or endangered national or international level.

Among the threatened species can mention the bear anteater (mirmecophaga tridctyla), the Mayuato (procyoin cancrivorus),  the Yahguaretce (panthera onca), the Tigrinya (Leopardus tigrinus),  the Margay (Leopardus wiedii), Rosillo (tayassu tajacu) and the Tapir (tapirus land).

Wetlands of Life

Inside the Finca Pintascayo can find a humidity of great ecological importance.

This landscape includes the Laguna Don Carlos in an extensive cattail zone which is inhabited by various species of birds, fish, amphibians and mammals.

 

Laguna Don Carlos is situated just in front of Laguna Pintascayo and comprises an area of 56 hectares approximately.
